Atheism's Dilemma
The secular society of Western culture seeks relief from being reminded that its earthly activity will be judged by an omnipotent and all-knowing God. Such relief is supported by atheism. The atheistic denial of God, a human soul, and an eternal afterlife is comforting and believable when made by presumably knowledgeable and recognized authors in popular and entertaining litertaure. The formation of atheistic congregations hosted by inspired leaders is attracting nonbelievers into an organized atheistic following. Participation in such meetings tends to formalize the beliefs when they are preached by the dedicated leaders.
But unknown to this growing audience is a revelation that should undermine the subconscious security of belonging to a religious-like community. The revelation is that the underpinnings of of atheistic beliefs, the denials of spiritual reality, have been shattered by scientific evidence showing they are false and meaningless. Every human being has a spiritual soul, distinct from the physical body, that continues to live in an afterlife after earthly burial. Without the denied beliefs, what will an atheist have left to believe? What other comforting, relativistic substitute is there that does not revert to divine submission since the reality of an afterlife is the destiny of every living human being? This is atheism's dilemma.
